NFA Holds 2008 Homecoming Pep Rally

Students packed the Newburgh Free Academy Boy’s Gym on Thurs., Oct. 16, 2008, in honor of the 2008 Homecoming Pep Rally. Students came decked out in their class garb showing their support to their class. Newburgh Free Academy cheerleaders pumped up the crowd before, during and at the end of the fun event. The yearly event is held as a fun way to build school spirit as well as camaraderie between the students in the different grade levels.

Throughout the night various class-versus-class competitions were held from scooter races to hula-hoop contests. In addition, dancers from NFA performed for the mostly student audience to get the crowd going. A special visit from the men of the Hip Hop Handbook, including Newburgh’s own Wyatt Stevens, also took to the floor before the night was over for a special performance.
