Holiday Bilingual/ENL/Dual Language Gathering
We gathered together at our Annual Holiday Bilingual/ENL/ Dual Language Gathering as a family to celebrate. Through the leadership of Mrs. Chastity Beato, Director of Language Acquisition, the teachers, parents, and children spent an informative and festive evening together.
The evening began with a greeting from Mrs. Beato. She welcomed the parents and families, directed parents to the various resources as well as the community partners and services that were available to them around the room. She also thanked the faculty and staff who volunteered their time for this event as well as the Balmville School Parent-Teacher Organization.
The most cherished part of the evening was when students from the district's Bilingual, ENL, and Dual Language Programs sang Holiday Carols and songs in both Spanish and English and danced to a packed gymnatorium . In attendance were over 250 students with their families.
The evening ended with a warm welcome for Santa Claus as he arrived to distribute gifts to all the children in attendance.
Much gratitude goes to Mrs. Veronica Valle, ENL teacher from Balmville, for coordinating with Toys for Tots of the Hudson Valley Chapter for the distribution of toys by Santa to all the children. Many thanks to our district elves that helped out behind the scenes. After all, it is through the Work of All that our students excel to become tomorrow's leaders.
