The 21st Century Afterschool Academy is an afterschool program where Balmville, GAMS, Horizons, and Vails Gate students can get homework help and tutoring along with enrichment activities

|Parent/Staff of 21st Century After-School Academy
The first day of the 21st Century After-School Academy at Balmville, HOH, GAMS, and VG has been delayed. The new anticipated start date is November 14, 2017.
|Recycling Program at Horizons on the Hudson Raises Funds for Haiti
Students and staff at Horizons on the Hudson Elementary School recently donated $429 to the J/P Haitian Relief Organization following their “Recycle to Rebuild” drive.
|Newburgh Enlarged City School District Accepted into National Network of Innovative School Districts
The district joins Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools, will partner with other leading educators, entrepreneurs, and researchers from across the country.
|ALL EMPLOYEES: Open Enrollment Period for Health Benefits
The Open Enrollment Period runs from October 1 - November 30th. Everyone who is eligible for medical benefits, including those using the buy-out option, MUST participate.

|October Capital Bond Presentations
Two additional presentations, with the latest bond proposals, will be showcases at the October Board of Education Meetings. These will take place October 10th and October 24th.
|Community Blood Drive at NFA - September 28, 2017
We will be holding our NFA MAIN CAMPUS Blood Drive on Thursday September 28, 2017, in the Girls Gym, 201 Fullerton Avenue, Newburgh from 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM. We have extended our hours so our community can donate as well.
|Race to the Mound 5K Fundraiser for NFA Goldback Ryan Danyluk
A Run to the Mound 5K Run / Walk will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Town of Newburgh Little League Complex in Honor of Ryan Danyluk. The run/ walk will begin at 9:00 am.

The district will be holding a community forum on the Capital Bond Project tonight at 6PM in the BOE Auditorium and Saturday at 9AM.
|“School Is Cool” Program Provides Backpacks to over 500 NECSD Students
Students in the district are off to a great start after over 500 students received backpacks full of school supplies at the recent School is Cool event.

Horizons-on-the-Hudson School has rescheduled their annual Block Party to Wednesday, September 20th before their Open House from 5PM until 6:30PM.

June 21 and June 22 will be a full instructional day for all students. June 23rd will be a 1/2 day for HMS and MHS only, all other students on June 23rd will not attend.

|Important Calendar Change
The following changes have been made to the district calendar: October 4th schools are now closed, also on October 11th, schools are now closed. In addition, April 17th, schools will be in session.
