This is a reminder to students:

The PRISM Club is holding the annual Day of Silence, Friday, April 27th. The quiet but powerful student led action that raises awareness about the individuals that I’ve been bullied, harassed, and discriminated.  Please sign up to participate with Ms. O’Neill in the main library. 

April is National Poetry Month celebrate the power of a poem by carrying your favorite poem in your pocket this Thursday, April 26th or discover anew favorite from the copies on the hallways of NFA.  Take one and carry it with you on April 26th – you might be rewareded with a treat by one of the poetry promoters circulating the building on Thrusday.

The sophomore class is sponsoring the 1st Annual 5K Color Run.  The 5K will begin at the NFA Main Campus to the North Campus, past NFA West and back to NFA Main.  Throughout this fun run, you will be hit by colorful paint making it even more exciting. The cost is $10.00 for Adults and $5.00 for children under 10 years of age.  Come out to not only support the class of 2020, but for an amazing FUN, RUN.  The event will take place Sunday June 10th.  Students can get registration forms in any AP office.  Faculty can pick them up in the Main Office.  Please see Mrs. Caldara or Ms. Gabriele if you have any quesitons.

You are invited to attend the NFA Dance Department’s Spring Student Choreography Concert on Thursday, April 26th at 7:00 PM.  Enjoy all styles of dance including contemporary, jazz, tap, and hip hop.  There is a $3.00 suggested donation to attend.  Hope to see you there.

Tere will ba a blood drive on Thursday, April 26th in the girls gym from 8am to 1pm.  One donation saves 3 lives.  Please come down and donate.

Attention Class of 2019……If you are interested in going on the field trip to Great Escape, pick up a permission slip in any AP office or the Bookstore.

Attention Spanish Students!  There will be a meeting for the Spanish Honor Society on TODAY at 2:20 pm in Room 285!  There will be a tutoring session for Spanish 1,2,3 in Room 285 on Apil 24th.  Sign up in Room 285 periods 3,4,7,8,9.

We've made it to the finals of the national CareerSafe Video Competition again (5 out of 6 years...just saying)!

The NFA Main Music Department Spring Concert I will be Thursday, May 3 at 7 PM in the main auditorium.  Join us for an evening of music performances from Chaminade, Boys Glee, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and Electric Keyboard Ensemble.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Scheduling Season has begun. Teachers, please support this effort by sending students to the guidance office when a scheduling slip/pass is in your mailbox.  Each slip has the date and time of the scheduling appointment.  Thank you for your support!  

 

MARATHON PROJECT has begun!  All students and staff are welcome to walk, run, or jog.  We meet, Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays at 2:40 in the lower lobby.

 

Students: Scheduling season is here. Make an appointment with your guidance counselor to set up your schedule for next year.

 

The votes are in.  The Senior Prom theme is “Old Hollywood”!  It was a landslide.  The prom is June 1, 2018.

 

Students, please sign up for the Empire After-School program.  The program runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for one hour right after school. There are different classes you can sign up for.  Please pick up a registration package in the main office.

 

The cosmetology program will be open for beauty services on Friday's during periods 1-4. 

 

The NFA Zero Waste Club is composting. Please separate your cafeteria waste accordingly.  Remember! Plastics and foil go in one bin.  Food, paper and napkins go in another pin.  Trash goes in the third bin.  Thank you!

The NFA Barbering program has open clinic hours’ everyday periods 5 & 6.  Stop by and make an appointment.  No appointments will be made during class time and no late passes will be given.  Haircuts, edge ups, eyebrows, fades and shaves for free.
