NFA Seniors Shine During 2009 Summer Commencement Ceremony
On Thurs., Aug. 20, 2009, family, friends, and Newburgh Enlarged City School District teachers and officials, gathered for the Newburgh Free Academy Class of 2009 Summer Commencement Ceremony. Fifty-eight students joined the long list of graduates from the June 2009 ceremony. NFA had nearly 730 graduates between the two ceremonies, an increase from previous years according to Newburgh Enlarged City School District Superintendent of Schools Dr. Annette M. Saturnelli.
NFA Principal Peter Copeletti welcomed those in attendance and spoke about the hard work that these students completed in order to be there that evening. For some the road was easier than for others, but in the end they all earned their diplomas due to their dedication and perseverance. Following the presentation of the diplomas, NFA students eager for the future, many going off to college within the next few weeks, celebrated with friends and family.
