NFA Announces Annual Empty Bowls Event
Event Benefits the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley
On Thurs., April 22, 2010, at 3:30 p.m., Newburgh Free Academy will hold their annual Empty Bowls event to benefit the Hudson Valley Food Bank. Each year students from NFA’s ceramic classes volunteer to make one-of-a-kind bowls for the special day. NFA seniors then volunteer their time to help serve a basic meal to their guests. Empty Bowls is part of a national network of volunteer efforts to provide hunger relief. This year students would like to invite you to join them for tea or coffee along with a cupcake, brownie or cookie. The purpose of the event is to remind students, faculty, parents, and community members that there are always empty bowls in our local community. Tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis. Ticket cost is $15 including the keepsake bowl. For more information or to purchase tickets please contact the NFA Library at 563-5478.
