SJH Performing Arts House Students Compete in World Math Day 2010


     Recently, seventh grade South Junior High School Performing Arts House students were part of setting a new world record during their participation in World Math Day 2010. Across the globe, over one million students participated in the event.

     This live internet competition combined students from 235 countries correctly answering 479,732,613 mental arithmetic questions. During the 48 hour period on March 2 and March 3, students from Gloria Santacroce’s math classes competed at home and at school against other students from around the globe. This event will be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. All participants received a certificate designating their points accumulated during the competition.
