Harriet Tubman Statue Celebratory Scavenger Hunt for Families!

The NECSD FACE and Curriculum and Instruction teams and the Newburgh Free Library invite our families to celebrate the Harriet Tubman statue located at 124 Grand Street, Newburgh NY! As part of the celebration the district and the library are hosting a scavenger hunt for our families! The scavenger hunt will test your skills and knowledge of the local area and it’s vibrant, inclusive history. Our families will have the experience of exploring some of the most beautiful locations within the surrounding area that highlight the resilience and contributions of African Americans, such as Harriet Tubman. The scavenger hunt is not only educational but fun and will make a great family activity during the Thanksgiving Holidays.

The scavenger hunt can be found on the Newburgh Free Library and NECSD websites. We strongly encourage families to share with us pictures of their hunt and pictures taken with Harriet! The Google form used to register for the Scavenger Hunt will provide you with the ability to upload your scavenger hunt pictures and submit your responses to the questions.
