Black Rock Forest - 7/14-8/8 | 9:00am-1:30pm (For Current 3th-8th Students)
Black Rock Forest, located in Cornwall, New York, offers an immersive summer program that connect students with nature through hands-on scientific exploration. In partnership with local organizations, the forest hosts educational field trips and activities for students of all ages. Participants engage in diverse themes such as art, hydrosphere, atmosphere, biosphere, and ecology, conducting experiments like water quality testing and contributing to citizen science projects. These program aims to foster a deeper understanding of environmental science and conservation in a dynamic, outdoor setting.
Summer Swim - 7/14-8/8 | 9:00am-1:30pm (For Current 5th-11th Students)
The program will run at the NFA Main campus. The program will encompass a maximum of 60 scholars and offer excellent swimming lesson education and overall water safety education to all students who attend which could lead to CPR certification.
Drum Line - 7/14-8/8 | 9:00am-1:30pm (For Current 5th-11th Students)
The Empire Drumline program will run at the NFA North campus which is an active summer enrichment program. Students will perform at the Hudson Valley Renegades in August and put together a show for the fall. This summer program will give our scholars an opportunity to learn about the Marching Arts, to play Marching Percussion instruments, and to experience the stamina that it takes to put a performance together. This will be a four-week program involving 5-12 graders.
Electronic Orchestra - 7/14-8/8 | 9:00am-1:30pm (For Current 6th-8th Students)
The Empire Electronic Orchestra program will run at the NFA North campus. An orchestra made up of all-electric instruments. From traditional instruments seen in an orchestra, like violins and cellos, to other electric instruments like guitar, bass guitar, and keyboards. This involvement is a chance for students to learn instruments they may not get the chance to learn or play in their normal school ensembles. Students will learn how to play these instruments, in addition to playing modern music.
E-Sports - 7/14-8/8 | 9:00am-1:30pm (For Current 5th-8th Students)
The E-Sports program will run at the NFA North campus. The Esports/Anime program offers all students a space to connect and make new friends through their shared interest in Anime Shows and Video Games. Every day, students will alternate activities. Students watching Anime shows are tasked with answering questions intended to expand their academic knowledge to determine characterization, story elements, themes, and central ideas behind the stories read.
Cosmetology - 7/14-8/8 | 9:00am-1:30pm (For Current 7th-9th Students)
The program will run at the NFA Main campus, which will positively impact high school students' social-emotional development by fostering communication skills, building confidence, and promoting self-awareness. The program will also provide opportunities for teamwork, problem-solving, and learning to manage stress within a salon environment. Students will learn life-long confidence-building skills and support hidden talents.
Fashion - 7/14-8/8 | 9:00am-1:30pm (For Current 9th-11th Students)
The program will run at the NFA Main campus which offers students in grades 6–12 an exciting opportunity to explore the world of style, design, and creativity. Through hands-on projects, students will learn the basics of fashion illustration, fabric selection, sewing techniques, and upcycling clothing. Whether they're aspiring designers or simply curious about fashion, participants will gain confidence and practical skills while expressing their unique style in a fun and supportive environment.
Culinary - 7/14-8/8 | 9:00am-1:30pm (For Current 9th-11th Students)
The Culinary program will run at the NFA North Campus and is designed to introduce students to the field of nutrition and wellness, including major trends. This program includes basic lab experiences. Lessons will be taught from a practical approach with cooking labs designed to apply different principles of cooking. Hands-on food experiments will allow students to discover the role of specific ingredients and preparation techniques. Students will develop useful, lifelong cooking skills.
All registration applications for enrichment programs must be submitted on or before May 31, 2025, at 6:00 pm. At this point, all applications will be reviewed; this is not a first-come, first-served program. For processing purposes, any applications received after the deadline will be placed directly onto a waitlist.
Notification to families regarding students’ acceptance status will be sent out on June 23, 2025 or earlier, via telecommunication and/or email.
