Dear GAMS Families,

On behalf of the entire administrative team, we want to warmly welcome you back to Gidney Avenue Memorial School for the 2025–2026 school year! We hope you’re enjoying a relaxing and joyful summer filled with wonderful memories alongside family and friends.

We are thrilled to return to Gidney Avenue and continue the incredible work we’ve accomplished together over the past three years. As a school community, we’ve made steady and meaningful progress in both literacy and math proficiency, and we’re proud to see the growth our students continue to make.

One of last year’s major highlights was the launch of our Vocabulary Initiative, which proved to be a tremendous success in boosting students’ language development and confidence. We’re excited to continue this important work in the year ahead as we deepen students’ understanding and expand their academic language skills.

As your school leaders, we remain fully committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and achievement-focused environment where all students can thrive. We are proud of the strong partnerships we’ve built with families and are looking forward to collaborating even more this year through a variety of planned school activities and events.

Attached to this letter, you will find a special note from your child’s teacher, who is eager to welcome your child and begin a year filled with learning, growth, and meaningful connections. 

We can't wait to welcome you back in September! School begins for all students on Thursday September 4th. Our school hours are 8:15am - 2:45pm. Kindergarten and First Grade parents are invited to walk their students to their classrooms on the first day of school. On Friday September 5th, Second and Third grade parents will be invited to walk their students to their classrooms. Finally, Monday September 8th, Fourth and Fifth grade parents are invited to walk their students to class. We are happy to be able to offer you this opportunity again this year! Bus information will be posted on the district website prior to school beginning. Please visit the Parent Portal to update any phone numbers and emergency contacts for the upcoming school year. In the meantime, we wish you a restful summer and encourage you to continue making special memories with your loved ones.

En nombre de todo el equipo administrativo, les damos la más cordial bienvenida a la Escuela Gidney Avenue Memorial School para el año escolar 2025-2026. Esperamos que estén disfrutando de un verano relajante y feliz, lleno de recuerdos maravillosos junto a familiares y amigos.

Nos entusiasma regresar a Gidney Avenue y continuar el increíble trabajo que hemos logrado juntos durante los últimos tres años. Como comunidad escolar, hemos logrado un progreso constante y significativo tanto en lectoescritura como en matemáticas, y nos enorgullece ver el crecimiento continuo de nuestros estudiantes.

Uno de los aspectos más destacados del año pasado fue el lanzamiento de nuestra Iniciativa de Vocabulario, que resultó ser un gran éxito al impulsar el desarrollo lingüístico y la confianza de los estudiantes. Nos entusiasma continuar con esta importante labor el próximo año, a medida que profundizamos la comprensión de los estudiantes y ampliamos sus habilidades lingüísticas académicas.

Como líderes escolares, mantenemos nuestro firme compromiso con el fomento de un entorno de apoyo, inclusivo y centrado en el rendimiento, donde todos los estudiantes puedan prosperar. ¡Estamos deseando darles la bienvenida de nuevo en septiembre! El colegio empieza para todos los estudiantes el jueves 4 de septiembre. Nuestro horario es de 8:15 a. m. a 2:45 p. m. Los padres de kínder y primer grado podrán acompañar a sus hijos a sus aulas el primer día de clases. El viernes 5 de septiembre, los padres de segundo y tercer grado podrán acompañar a sus hijos a sus aulas. Finalmente, el lunes 8 de septiembre, los padres de cuarto y quinto grado podrán acompañar a sus hijos a clase. ¡Nos complace ofrecerles esta oportunidad de nuevo este año! La información sobre el autobús se publicará en el sitio web del distrito antes del inicio de clases.
