Meadow Hill Scientists Create 3D Models to Learn about Earth
Sixth graders at Meadow Hill really dug deep to learn about the layers of the Earth with Mrs. Brooks-Hannon following our winter recess. Students created 3-D models and posters to demonstrate the differences between the 3 main layers of our planet, as well as how these layers interacted with each other to recycle Earth's materials via the rock cycle.
According to one student, Ava, "The compositional layer is made up of the crust, mantle, and the core. These are separated by their density. While mechanical layers are made up of the lithosphere, asthenosphere, mesosphere, outer core, and inner core which all help the earth work to reuse its materials like iron and magnesium."
