Meadow Hill School Celebrates Hispanic Heritage with Food, Fun, and Community Spirit
Meadow Hill School recently hosted a vibrant celebration in honor of Hispanic Heritage, bringing together students, families, and community members for an evening filled with delicious food, lively music, and cultural pride.
Students showcased their talents and teamwork by preparing and serving a variety of traditional Hispanic dishes under the guidance of HCS teacher, Chef Wenzel. The 8th grade culinary students not only helped cook and serve the food, but also created a Hispanic Foods Cookbook as part of their learning activities — a project that blended hands-on culinary experience with cultural exploration.
In addition to the amazing food, guests enjoyed games, activities, and dancing, with community vendors joining the festivities to share their crafts and services.
A highlight of the event was a special appearance by Santos Bonilla Ortega, a former Meadow Hill student and current NFA West student, who served as the guest speaker. Garcia shared words of encouragement and reflected on his experiences as a Meadow Hill graduate, inspiring current students to take pride in their heritage and education.
The event was a wonderful example of Meadow Hill School’s commitment to celebrating diversity, fostering community connections, and providing meaningful, engaging learning opportunities for students.
