Get to Know Your Librarian
My name is Mrs. Rowell, and I am your child’s school library media specialist. I have worked in the Newburgh School District for 29 years, working at North Junior High School before moving to the elementary library program.
I love reading, reading to children, and making your child’s library experience a memorable one. My lessons teach children how to effectively use and navigate any library, while incorporating fun, hands-on activities that support learning. My goal is to continuously integrate our district's library curriculum to assist in fulfilling The District's Vision and Mission Statements for excellence in learning.

Mission Statement
The mission of the school library program in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District is to assist all students in becoming active and creative locators, evaluators and users of information to solve problems and to satisfy their own curiosity. With these abilities, students can become independent, ethical lifelong learners and readers who achieve personal satisfaction and who contribute responsibly and productively to the community and society as a whole.
