Scholars in Ms. Rivera’s ENL Class at SMS Present Their Myths
Sixth grade scholars in Ms. Rivera’s (English as a New Language) ENL developed myths and presented them to classmates, families, and friends. After reading myths, students developed their own stories each containing a hero and a villain.
Students also drew characters and were charged with evoking the same emotion from their drawing as from their story.
Students also utilized their Chromebooks to practicing typing and learn general knowledge about the Google Docs program. Through the use of their one to one device, scholars were able to practice their word processing skills as well as choosing fonts, colors, and document designs specific to their story. This fall, each scholar in grades 3-10 received a Chromebook for their use throughout the day. Scholars in grades 11 and 12 are able to bring their own device or can access a Chromebook as needed.
Earlier this year, scholars presented their personal narrative.
