Seven of Eight NFA Crew Team Competition Boats Advance to Finals at New York State Scholastic Rowing Championship
Earlier this May, the NFA Crew Team competed in the New York State Scholastic Rowing Championship, held annually in Saratoga Springs, against hundreds schools and clubs.
Seven out of eight competition boats advanced to finals Sunday several of which placed.
The men’s varsity four of Chris Cosgrove (12th gr.), Phillip “Ian” Williams (12th gr.), Keath Riley (12th gr.), and Luke Consani (12th gr.), coxswained by Diana Salazar (12th gr.) took 2nd in the third final.
The men’s novice four of Alec Grogan (9th gr), Bret Serafini (8th he.), Michael Abrams (9th gr.) and Jared Kerin (9th gr.), coxswained by Julia Steiner (8th gr.) took 3rd in the petit finals.
The women’s varsity double of Jamie Forbes (12th gr.) and Jenna Caster (11th gr.) took 4th in petit finals but holds the fastest time among high school teams across NYS in that category.
The women’s novice four of Ava Esposito (9th), Isabelle Goings-Perrot (10th gr.), Amanda Ahearn (9th gr.) and Jenna Bunch (9th gr.), coxswained by Brandon Collins (7th gr.), held the 4th fastest time for petit finals among high school teams across NYS in that category.
