Goldbacks Give Back! Thirty NFA Cosmetology and Barbering Scholars Help Those in Need
Thirty scholars and alumni from NFA Main’s Barbering and Cosmetology programs woke up early on a Saturday morning to volunteer their time and their skills to serve those in need at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital’s annual holiday event. Along with Newburgh Ministry, MSLCH organized an event to serve hundreds of families who are in need this holiday season. Of those, scholars from NFA Main’s Barbering and Cosmetology offered haircuts, shaves, manicures, and festive hairstyles to approximately 100 people.
Families were treated to a holiday shopping experience with a make shift shop set up with mostly new and some gently used items ranging from household goods, clothes, toys, and toiletries.
Mr. John Etri, Director of Career and Technical Education & High School Visual Arts, Ms. Leanne Paganelli and Ms. Maria Lastowski, Cosmetology teachers at NFA Main, Ms. Danielle Crinieri and barbering teacher at NFA Main were all on hand to guide and support their students.
Co-principal Mr. Matteo Doddo and assistant principal Mr. Matthew Spellman stopped by to experience the event.
