NFA North Excelsior Goldbacks give back!
Down the road from South Middle School, students worked to improve their community and impact the lives of a family. On Saturday, November 18th, students from Excelsior Academy at NFA North volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh.
“Today we're doing demolition and I told my mom and she seemed interested, so I brought her along. I like volunteering and doing this sort of thing to help people and I can see myself doing this in the future." Jeremiah Palemon, 11th grade at NFA North, Excelsior
“Being able to be a part of something like this is a great a thing!" Alesia Cannon, Jeremiah’s mom
"I think it's wonderful for the kids to get involved in the community more than anything else. The work will get done, but it's nice for them to help and to be part of the good things that are happening in Newburgh." Brady Quinn, Site Coordinate
“This is completely optional, our teacher emailed us and I wanted to take advantage of an opportunity to volunteer. I like helping people. It just feels good. I would like to positively contribute to the community especially when I feel so fortunate and others are less so. It makes me feel warm that my classmates and I are able to help people.” Eliana DeLeon, 11th grade at NFA North, Excelsior
