Parents: DTSDE Annual Survey

Newburgh Enlarged City School District is inviting all parents, teachers, and students in grades 4–12 to participate in our fourth annual Diagnostic Tool for School and District Effectiveness (DTSDE) Survey. The survey will be open Sept. 12–28.

The DTSDE Survey is part of the New York State Department of Education requirements for Focus and Priority Schools. Survey questions address leadership and capacity, school leader practices and decisions, curriculum development and support, teacher practices and decisions, student social and emotional developmental health, and family and community engagement.

There are also additional questions about our special education and Title I programs.

“The strength of our district stems from forming positive, open relationships with our community,” said Superintendent Roberto Padilla. “We’re committed to listening to candid feedback about our schools so we can improve our service to all students, employees, and families.”

Teachers and parents with a current email address on file with the district will receive a personal survey invitation and link. Parents can also take the survey by clicking here, or picking up a paper survey at each of the district’s schools.

In addition, there will be kiosks set up at each school during the open houses, Sept. 12–23, so parents can participate during the event. The parent survey is available in both English and Spanish.

Students will participate during school, using their student IDs for access.

Independent research firm K12 Insight — an approved New York survey vendor — is administering the survey and compiling the results. All responses are strictly confidential.

For more information about the survey, contact David Brown at dbrown@necsd.net or 563-3473.

ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
