The Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program is FREE for children living within the Newburgh Enlarged City School District.

Students wrote journal entries about their own life experiences and core memories. They created collages of these memories in the shape of Egyptian Ankh Symbols and painted them gold. Some students added jewels to represent importance.

Heritage Middle School students in Ms. Clina’s General Music classes are using the computer program Soundtrap to learn about and explore the elements of music through electronic music composition.

Ms. Purdy purchased a class set of the book The Mitten by Jan Brett, and students will be using their puppets as reading buddies as another method of literacy interaction.

Newburgh Free Academy is one of thirteen (13) schools in New York State to earn this prestigious honor. NFA is the first school in section 9 to receive this national award.

Our students were recognized for their excellence in Characters of Respect and Self-Control; character traits for November and December - respectively.

Schools from all across the tri state region competed in this event with NFA team members picking up multiple round victories.

Temple Hill Academy hosted its Middle School Winter Art Show in conjunction with the Middle School Winter Concert. The design categories included: Snow Globes, Snowpeople, Snack Sweaters and Cryptids.

Students measured each layer of ice to identify precipitation levels of each year. They also made inferences about past climate events based on material trapped in the ice, such as dust, ash or pollen.

Gardnertown Leadership Academy recognized 17 students who reached the Commanding level for English Language Proficiency on the 2024 New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT).

The NFA Book Club will be reading Lockjaw by Matteo L. Cerilli as their February selection. Each month, students, faculty, and staff join together to discuss the book, along with their observations and reflections on the story.

Dr. Buon brings with her a wealth of experience and dedication to education, having spent 34 years in the field, with 20 of those years dedicated to the NECSD.

The Newburgh Enlarged City School District will open on a two-hour (2) delay schedule Monday, February 3rd due to weather conditions during peak travel times.

The NY GEAR UP After School Academy will begin Tuesday, February 4th for NFA Main students at NFA Main Campus and Thursday, February 6th for West and North students at NFA North Campus

This is a friendly reminder that the District will be closed on Wednesday, January 29th in observance of Asian Lunar New Year. All schools and offices will reopen on Thursday, January 30th.
