Check Out the Peer Group Connection (PGC) at NFA Main Campus Information Video
On Wednesday, October 31st, Peer Group Connection (PGC) at Newburgh Free Academy's Main Campus, peer leaders delivered a presentation to faculty and staff about this beneficial program. The Peer Group Connection program is designed to help freshmen transition into high school and develop the strategies and skills to overcome any obstacles they may face in the process. The peer leaders also facilitated an activity in which they asked for volunteer faculty members to participate. PGC peer leader, Lelia Walcott, created a video including the peer leaders, some of the freshmen involved in the program, and the faculty advisors, in order to display the effects the program has had thus far at NFA Main.
Over the summer, groups of 11th and 12th grade scholars attended a training retreat to develop skills that will enable them to be mentors to their 9th grade peers.
The Peer Group Connection (PGC) program also launched at Newburgh Free Academy's North campus.
