Newburgh’s Varsity Wrestling Team Finds Success at Sectionals

Several student athletes from Newburgh Free Academy’s Varsity Wrestling team found success during their Section IX sectional meet held on February 9^th, 2019. The earned 3rd place as a team, which is the highest team score in 11 years.

1st Place: Tyler Serafini (182 lbs.)  *State Qualifier

2nd Place: Maxx DeCapua (220 lbs.) *State Qualifier

2nd Place: Brandon DeLaRosa (126 lbs.)

3rd Place: Jackson Merli (99 lbs.)

3rd Place: Jaden Hansen (106 lbs.)

3rd Place: Darwin Banegas (195 lbs.)

4th Place: Joseph Russell (182 lbs.)

4th Place: Caleb Williams (285 lbs.)

5th Place: Conner Leggett (160 lbs.)

6th Place: Luke Fischer (132 lbs.)
