Temple Hill Academy Celebrates Black History Month Through Collaborative Art Installation
Temple Hill Academy Scholars have been recently working on a display to celebrate Black History Month. Each grade level (K-8) collaborated to create a collage depicting famous historical figures. Scholars were able to complete this activity during their art classes and will continue the celebratory learning in class throughout the month.
In addition to the collaborative posters that are hanging in the lobby, our tigers will utilize read-alouds, guided reading, and research materials to further investigate these historical figures! Students also have the opportunity to complete an enrichment activity researching any additional historical figures that they are interested in.
Special Thanks to Matthew Darling, Alison Kan, and art teachers Ms. Bleadow and her Substitute who coordinated this effort.
ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
