NFA West Internship Spotlight: Anthony Barrett
Anthony Barrett, senior at Newburgh Free Academy West Campus is participating in his fourth internship in four years. Perviously interning at West Westside Music, WGNY Fox Radio, and with Mount Saint Mary's TEDx Newburgh Podcast series, Anthony is currently interning with Innate Chiropractic.
"When I was a senior in college, I thought I wanted to be a PT and doing a program similar to this one, I changed my mind. It's important to figure out what you like, but also important to figure out what you don’t want to do. There is a lot that you can learn in a book, but there is a real value in seeing what you're learning applied in real life." Dr. Erik Brower
Throughout the internship, Dr. Brower has been teaching Anthony elements of neurological chiropractic care and elements of running a healthcare business. Overall, the three main areas of focus have been leadership, communication, and self-development. Through their time together, they have discussed book recommendations and personal development.
"I was inspired and interested in the human body and biology, so I took this opportunity to explore it a little more. This is different than my previous internships, but relates because at the radio station, you always have to have a message behind whatever you're talking about. I'm learning there is consistent messages behind chiropractic work we well." Anthony Barrett
