South Middle School Home Runs Engage Philanthropically
South Middle School students, faculty, and staff raised money for our local families who are dealing with any type of Cancer through Sparrow’s Nest. Sparrow's Nest is a charity that provides meals to the families and caregivers of local children diagnosed with cancer. Sparrow’s Nest is a 501(c)3 local charity that is based in the Hudson Valley. SMS Parent Teacher Group (PTG) board members with the help of Ms. Tuttle started a”Coin Competition” between homerooms. The home room that collected the most coins received a pastacCelebration. Jackie Jones, Danine & Tom Giorgianni prepared a wonderful Italian lunch for the scholars. Mrs Santiago’s home room class enjoyed the delicious homemade Italian sauce and fresh baked bread. They were presented with a certificate and Trophy to keep in their room. Thank you to all the homeroom teachers at South who participated this year in the coin competion!
Last year as a school South Middle School helped raise over $1000 for Leukemia Lymphoma Society
