NECSD to Host Second Annual TEDxNewburgh Event
Faculty, staff, and alumni from the Newburgh Enlarged City School District are joined by local community members to host the second annual TEDxNewburgh event. The theme of this year’s event is Second Chances and will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 4pm-7pm at the Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus Auditorium.
Members of the committee include five faculty/staff members from the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, three recent alumni from Newburgh Free Academy, two current students, and three local community influencers. Committee members act as curators/coaches for each talk, produce the show, and coordinate sound and lights.
The committee received approximately 80 applicants for only 11 spots. Talks will range from personal pitfalls and triumphs to talks about larger systemic experiences. Several applicants are part of local organizations like the Blacc Vanilla Community Foundation and Hudson Valley Women in Business.
