GAMS Pre-K Center Kicks Off Celebrating "Week of the Young Child"  with their annual Pre-K Parade.  

The week of Monday, April 8th through Friday, April 12th the Pre K Center at GAMS will celebrate the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Week of the Young Child.  This is a week where we celebrate our youngest learners while generating focus and attention on the importance of early childhood education.

Week of the Young Child™

Whereas, the Pre-K Center at Gidney Avenue Memorial School and other local organizations, in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, are celebrating the Week of the Young Child™, April 8^th –April 12th; and

Whereas, these organizations are working to improve early learning opportunities, including early literacy programs, that can provide a foundation of learning for children in Newburgh, NY; and

Whereas, teachers and others who make a difference in the lives of young children in Newburgh, NY deserve thanks and recognition; and

Whereas, public policies that support early learning for all young children are crucial to young children’s futures;

I, do hereby proclaim April 8^th-April 12th as the Week of the Young Child™ and encourage all citizens to work to make a good investment in early childhood.
