A letter from building principal, Mr. Camt
April 12, 2019
Dear Meadow Hill GEM School families,
The safety and well-being of your children is our highest priority. I am writing this letter to inform you about a recent event that requires your attention.
This afternoon, we were alerted that a student brought three box cutters on to their school bus and attempted to distribute them on the way home. The bus driver was alerted and returned to the school. The bus was delayed as an administrator removed the student from the bus, confiscated the items, and called their parents. The student in question did not re-board the bus. We have learned that the student brought the items into school. To our knowledge, the weapons were not brought out during the school day. The student did not go through the metal detector, per the grade level of the student.
I cannot disclose discipline matters, but I can assure you that we take this issue very seriously. We work hard to provide a safe learning environment of our scholars.
Please help us remind your child to speak to an adult if they ever see, hear or otherwise become aware of this type of issue in their school or on their school bus. It is through the work of all that we are able to love, support, and protect our scholars.
Sincerely,
Mr. Dennis Camt
Principal, Meadow Hill GEM School
