NFA Crew Team Hosts 2nd Annual Greater Hudson Valley Indoor Rowing Championship

Saturday the Goldbacks Crew team hosted the 2nd Annual Greater Hudson Valley Indoor Rowing Championship, competing schools and rowing programs included Kingston, Rhinebeck, Warwick, Shaker, O’Neill, N. Rockland and Orange County Rowing Association. Male and female Novice and Varsity rowers each raced a two kilometer sprint, based on weight class as a start to the season before teams’ boats are out on the water racing. Many of the 75 participating Newburgh athletes successfully broke personal records and several medaled including:  Bret Seraffini  gold 7/8th gr. boys, Paige Kubin silver 7/8th gr. girls, Julia Steiner bronze 7/8th gr. girls, Catherine Williams gold light weight 9/10th gr. girls, Jared Shapiro gold light weight 9/10th gr. boys, Ava Esposito bronze light weight 11/12th gr. girls  Ava Stumer, bronze girls coxswain’s race, and Christopher Cosgrove bronze 11/12th gr. boys. 

Water regattas begin the first weekend of May in Poughkeepsie. 

The NFA Crew Team is coached by Brittany Bonesteel, Katie-Lee Mineo, and Stephanie Spellman.
