Ms. Cappello's Class Puts District Mantra in Motion - Literally!

Ms. Elizabeth Capello’s Digital Animation class is literally putting the district’s ‘We Are One’ mantra in motion!

Students used the Adobe After Effects to animate our district mantra. Ms. Cappello shared that it was important to develop skills in motion design that could be applied one day in a professional setting or to use for a college portfolio. The unit helped students better understand how motion design can be useful toward building a company brand.

Students discussed their approach. Some used different transformations to animate the mantra  including scale, positioning, rotation, key words and opacity to compile their  motion design.

Last year, this project was part of the Media and Production course. This year, the lesson was part of the new Computer Coding Pathway and focused on creating these graphics as well as importing interactive media into websites using JavaScript. The combined coursework is aligned with the Career and Technical Education Program goals of being career oriented and prepare students for careers in technology and web design through courses in the Computer Coding Pathway.
