Horizons-on-the-Hudson Students Participate in Living Wax Museum Character Project
Students in Mrs. Allen first and second grade class participated in a living wax museum May 31st. This was the culmination of a 2 month book report project. During the month of April students picked a Who Was or Who Is biography book about the famous person of their choice. Students were responsible for reading their books in April. In May a trifold book report was created. The trifold included a timeline, specific childhood and adulthood events as well as a typed one page report highlighting their famous person’s life from birth to death or present if the person were still alive. To celebrate all their hard work and what they had learned to their parents and special guests, students then dressed in character as part of a living wax museum. Characters included; Sacagawea, Jackie Robinson, Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Gloria Steinem, King Tut, Stan Lee, J.K. Rowling, Bruce Lee, Serena Williams, Genghis Khan, Helen Keller, Neil Armstrong, Theodore Roosevelt, George Washington, and Frida Kahlo.
