GAMS Celebrates 3rd Annual Leadership Day on June 5th
The GAMS community embraced social emotional learning as a process and celebrated their 3rd Annual Leadership Day on June 5, 2019. Today, we highlighted the true power of " Synergy"...Habit 6.
The entire school community embraced the energy that has been cultivated over the past three years. We have built a strong sense if community together and a culture of leadership among of students, faculty and staff. Leadership Day at GAMS represents much more than a single day. Today we celebrated a common theme...All students have the ability to lead! Its amazing, month after month we celebrate student growth at our monthly Leadership Assemblies. All teachers and staff encourage student participation throughout the year, celebrating in song, dance and personal achievements. It is powerful to see students leaders "popping up everywhere!" As our students practice these traits of leadership they begin to develop a vision for who they can become, take charge of their lives and learning , work with their peers to solve problems and make positive decisions. We are building a culture of student empowerment so that students have" a voice."
The Adult Lighthouse Team led the charge to ignite the planning for this day. Lighthouse Team Members: Carolyn Sayles, Pattie Lofaro, Meghan McDermott, Anthony Ortiz, Kelsey Lemp, Anita Spencer Smith, Kirsten Dorigatti, Nancy Gross, Hilda Santana, Phil Corso and Una Miller, Assistant Principal
