Meadow Hill School Celebrates 8th Graders Moving to High School
Meadow Hill School celebrated their 8th grade scholars who will be entering high school next year. The celebration welcomed family, friends, and community members to honor the scholars.
Dr. Lisamarie Spindler, Assistant Director for Curriculum and Instruction for Secondary encouraged students to reflect on their time in elementary of middle school to be sure that they leave the legacy they hope to leave in high school. Salutatorian and Meadow Hill alumna gave the keynote address and spoke about her experiences at Meadow Hill and NFA that encouraged scholars to get involved and be true to their goals and aspirations.
At the ceremony, awards were given for most improved, citizenship, scholarship, and leadership as well as special area awards that included science, math, English, social studies, all studies, language, art, technology, home and career skills, physical education (most improved, team player, physical fitness, 2019-2019 Physical Education award, and outstanding student award), art, and music (participation in chorus, orchestra, and/or band, and participation in All County Chorus and/or All District Chorus). Additionally, Mrs. Boone presented the Triple C Award, an award from Attorney General Letitia James that recognizes the courage, character, and commitment of New York State’s outstanding students.
5th grade teachers at Meadow Hill School include: Mr. Homan, Mrs. Fay, Mrs. Gamma, Ms. DiChiaro, Mr. Malnic, Mrs. Moeller, Mrs. Boone, Mrs. Quiroz-Pavez, Ms. Fiske, Mr. Restuccia, Mr. Poinsette, Mr. Wenzel, Coach Gunsch, Coach Seabury, Mrs. Shackleton, Mrs. Flynn, and Mr. Placencia.
