We Need Your Feedback: Strategic Planning
Hello NECSD community members,
As a new school year begins, and we enter the final year of Vision 2020, our district strategic blueprint, I want to take a moment to share some highlights and celebrations that you’ve been a part of for the last four years. We have created more options for secondary students, graduated several PTECH students, launched two new high school campuses (NFA West, Evening Campus), lowered kindergarten class sizes, increased technology expeditiously, received NYS Model Program recognition for our Certified Nursing Assistant program, increased student proficiency in ELA and Math each by 14%. Finally, in 2014, we had two schools in good standing. Today, we have nine.
This month, our Board of Trustees approved a partnership with Education Elements (EE) to facilitate our district through a strategic planning process to create a new plan that will continue the legacy of Vision 2020 as it sunsets in June of next year. EE has been partnering with our district through the last year and a half and, in addition to gaining a deep understanding of Newburgh, is the national leader in responsive planning. Our hope is that this responsive strategic planning process will set our district up to meet and adjust to the needs of our students, staff, families, and community for many years to come.
To kickoff this work, we are asking for your help. We would like to gather your input into Newburgh’s greatest strengths and areas of need to frame our vision for the next strategic plan. Please take 5-10 minutes to complete this brief, anonymous survey found at bit.ly/NewburghSP1. Our team will be using your insights and feedback to consider our areas of priority during this planning process.
Thank you in advance for your time and investment in our Newburgh students and community.
Through the work of all,
Dr. Roberto Padilla
Superintendent, Newburgh Enlarged City Schools
