United Way Campaign Kickoff Luncheon
Yesterday, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District kicked off the United Way campaign, an annual fundraiser to support local programs and initiatives that help NECSD scholars and their families. NECSD is the top school district campaign in Orange County, raising more than $10,000 per year. Each school’s captain, under the leadership of Pamela Peterson’s FACE team, does a wonderful job of giving employees the opportunity to contribute to the annual fundraiser. If you would like to support the campaign, simply fill out the paper pledge form and hand it into your main office or the FACE team. Pledge forms should be returned by Friday, February 14. You can chose to give by cash, check, or by easy payroll deduction. Alternatively, you can give here: www.uwdor.org/NECSD
United Way helps supply families in the district with school supplies so students have what they need to succeed, coats and hygiene items for children and teens, and fund programs that families can use to increase literacy and well-being. Each year, over 1,000 Newburgh residents call 211, the United Way 24/7/365 resource and information hotline. In addition, they provide free tax services to residents of the district, volunteer opportunities for individuals and families, and support for veterans.
You are invited to attend the next United Way Day of Sharing event to collect clothing and hygiene items for your scholars. This program will take place on Friday, March 6 from 10a-12p and from 2p-4p at their Poughkeepsie office at 75 Market Street.
