Horizons-on-the-Hudson Scholars Reach Out to Nursing Home
NECSD scholars from Horizons-on-the-Hudson reflected on the feelings that our “community grandparents ” or other residents may have in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, and created encouraging and uplifting content in video form.
Please enjoy the video and spread the love.
Special thanks to: Mrs. Bunce, Mrs. Merritt-Scott, Mrs. Jumpp, Ms. Martorano, all staff and students at HOH who collaborated on this project, and Heidi Williams at Sapphire Nursing Home for her collaboration.
Well that made me cry. You are all amazing. The residents and staff so much enjoyed the video. Residents were smiling and laughing. The residents and staff would like to send their sincere thanks to you for taking the time to do this video. We loved the messages. We loved their drawings. We loved the dancing and the piano playing and all the talents that the students shared. I am going to forward an email that a resident sent back to me. Some of the residents have email so I forwarded this to them so they could watch at their leisure. Some got teary eyed that they were thought of. Thank you so much for bringing some sunshine into an otherwise dark time.
Heidi Williams - Sapphire Nursing
Resident Note:
Thank you Heidi, The kids were great. God Bless Them. Tell them thank you from me.
