NFA Tennis Team Member Jahari Blake Named 2020 New York Positive Athlete
Congratulations to NFA Tennis Team member Jahari Blake, who was named as a 2020 New York Positive Athlete!
Positive Athlete selects high school student-athletes who are making a positive contribution to their communities, overcoming difficult circumstances with a positive attitude, and believe a positive attitude is essential to their success and be nominated for our awards and scholarships. Positive Athlete looks for student-athletes who display their Seven Definitions of a Positive Athlete, asking athletes how they OPERATE (Optimistic, Puts team first, Encouraging, Respectful, Admits Imperfections, True Heart for Others, and Embraces Service).
Positive Athlete is a celebration of young Athletes who have overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their schools and communities in a significant way, or just have an infectious positive attitude that makes everyone around them a better person. Positive Athlete celebrates recipients with awards, corporately sponsored scholarships, unique opportunities, and CNN Sports tells their stories on a national media platform to inspire other athletes. Over 7 years, thousands of high school athletes have been nominated by coaches, parents, teachers, family members, and fans. And over $350,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
