It's National School Psychology Week!
This week, November 9-13, 2020, is National School Psychology Week. We are so thankful for the team of School Psychologists who work with our scholars and educators throughout the Newburgh Enlarged City district!
School psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students; consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies; work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies; and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.
School psychologists help schools successfully:
- Improve academic achievement
- Promote positive behavior and mental health
- Support diverse learners
- Create safe, positive school climates
- Strengthen family-school partnerships
- Improve school-wide assessment and accountability

ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
