Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Student Survey Notice for Parents & Guardians

Dear Parents & Guardians, 

The NECSD Division of Student Support Services understands the importance of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and the impact that this COVID-19 Pandemic has had on our school community. Part of our NECSD Reopening Plan includes gaining a better understanding of our scholars’ social emotional wellbeing upon reopening schools. 

One strategy we have developed includes implementing a voluntary SEL survey for our scholars in Grades 3-12. The results of this survey will help us to determine how we can best support the social emotional needs of our school community. 

Teachers will prompt scholars to complete this voluntary SEL survey by asking them to click on the SEL Survey icon which will appear in their online dashboard between December 1st and December 4th. 

We are looking forward to hearing from our scholars about how we can best support their social emotional needs through this difficult time.

La División de Servicios de Apoyo Estudiantil de NECSD comprende la importancia del aprendizaje socioemocional (SEL) y el impacto que esta pandemia COVID-19 ha tenido en nuestra comunidad escolar. Parte de nuestro Plan de reapertura de NECSD incluye obtener una mejor comprensión del bienestar socioemocional de nuestros estudiantes al reabrir las escuelas.

Una estrategia que hemos desarrollado incluye implementar una encuesta SEL voluntaria para nuestros estudiantes en los grados 3-12. Los resultados de esta encuesta nos ayudarán a determinar cómo podemos apoyar mejor las necesidades socioemocionales de nuestra comunidad escolar.

Los maestros pedirán a los estudiantes que completen esta encuesta SEL voluntaria pidiéndoles que hagan clic en el ícono de la Encuesta SEL que aparecerá en su tablero en línea entre el 1 y el 4 de diciembre.

Esperamos escuchar a nuestros estudiantes acerca de cómo podemos apoyar mejor sus necesidades socioemocionales durante este momento difícil.
