NFA West Students Participate in Internship and Shadowing Opportunities

Each week, students from NFA – West travel to individual internships. Internships may last a full semester or throughout the year. Prior to committing to an internship, students are able to shadow businesses throughout the surrounding area. Edgar, is shadowing with Board of Education member, Joseph Minuta at his company, Minuta Architecture.

Inspired by his father, Edgar is more interested in mechanical work than architecture and engineering, but is interested to see how all these concepts intertwine. Already developing his skills, Edgar completed a project that is prominently displayed at NFA – West, with materials and guidance from A. Prokosch & Sons Sheet Metal, Inc. in Newburgh.

Minuta Architecture is a New York based full service architectural firm with two locations in the Mid-Hudson Region and New York City, who feels that great architecture is more than just seen, it's felt. Mr. Minuta is a graduate from Newburgh Free Academy and currently employers a fellow Goldback from the Class of 1996.
