Rotary Club of Greater Newburgh Donates Turkeys and Grocery Gift Cards to Students
The Rotary Club of Greater Newburgh is a nonsectarian service organization whose motto is "Service Above Self". The Rotary Club of Greater Newburgh is one of the oldest continuous clubs in the world. Such distinguished civic leaders as Archie Steward of as Archie Stewart of Stewart International Airport fame, and Dr. Russell Scobie, known as the father of fluoridation, have been members. Continuing a holiday tradition, the Greater Newburgh Rotary Club supports the community this holiday season with the donation of turkeys and gift cards to a local grocery store. This year, the club supported families of students attending the New Windsor Elementary School.
Accepting the turkeys and gift cards was School Principal Mr. Dennis Camt, School Psychologist Ms. Kelly Caci and Mr. Anthony Grice, teacher and Rotarian of the Greater Newburgh Rotary. Attending were Rotarians Arlette Murrain, President, Jeannine Miller and Reverend J Edward Lewis.
The Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change - across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves.
Story provided by Rotarian Ms. Arlette Murrain.
