NFA West Scholars Present Ideal College Campus

Newburgh Free Academy West scholars created and presented their ideal colleges to their peers. Groups of students collaborated to research what typical colleges offered. Together, they then brainstormed what an ideal college would be and developed their presentation. Students were tasked with developing a pitch to highlight the requirements and amenities of their ideal schools.

As students rotated into the presentations, other students listened and learned from Mount Saint Mary College students, some of whom are part of the CSTEP and HEOP programs at the colleges. Students were able to ask questions about selecting a major, coursework rigor, and general college life.

Educators throughout the building wore their college apparel, so students could ask questions about specific schools that might be of interest.

All photos from the event can be viewed here.

ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
