Temple Hill Scholars Work Together to Make Pretzels with Mr. Wenzel
Temple Hill Academy’s third and fourth grade students made pretzels with Mr. Wenzel’s middle school home economics class. Board of Education vice president, Mr. Philip Howard joined students for the lesson. With the assistants of Mr. Wenzel's middle school students, the elementary students learned how to make and divide the dough and also to roll and bake the pretzels. Mr. Howard taught the students how to properly salt the pretzels with a little style.
Students learned the history and starting region of pretzels and key ingredients used at that time (and to this day). Students also learned about measuring, weighing, and timing of the process to make sure the pretzels turned out tasty!
The day was enjoyed by all!
