Balmville Elementary Community Makes Generous Donation to Town of Newburgh Animal Shelter
As we discover each year, children love animals! They share stories of their beloved pets, choose literature centered around animals, and find ways to write them into their narratives. When we brought up the idea of a community holiday gift this year, it was unanimous that the Town of Newburgh Animal Control and Shelter would receive our students' and school's donation of caring. The Kindness Crew, Ms.D'Amico and Mrs. Crozzoil's fifth graders at Balmville Elementary, designed the school flier and regularly visited classrooms to collect donations. Our Balmville family of students, parents, extended family, and teachers contributed numerous items that the animal shelter was in need of. This donation drive was powered by the love and desire of children to help animals, with the support of teachers and families.
