Black History on Display at New Windsor School
New Windsor School staff and students created displays honoring the hard work, triumphs, and rich culture of the many African Americans who contributed to the shape of our nation. Ms. Stone's first grade class centered their display around African American inventors and their inventions. From peanut butter to the cell phone, the contributions of Black inventors have been integral in American society and the world. Ms. Mia Esposito and Ms. Kelli Anderson collaborated on a book case display highlighting children's books about prominent Black Americans. Each of the displays featured in the main entrance of the school building serve as a reminder that Black History is American History.
