My Brother's Keeper and My Sister's Keeper Present A Master Class Celebrating Women's History Month!
Since 1987, March has been designated as National Women's History Month, a time to pay tribute to the generations of women who changed the face of society through courage and activism. My Brother's Keeper and My Sister's Keeper are celebrating by hosting a Master Class spotlighting the accomplishments of four local women that are trailblazers in their respective careers and communities. Every Wednesday, beginning March 9th, a virtual presentation featuring one of four local women will be streamed via google meet.

Robyn Williams | March 9th
With over 25 years of banking experience, Robyn Williams is currently the Assistant Vice President, Regional Branch Management for Hudson Valley Credit Union. In her role she oversees 7 branches with 105 staff, Robyn is responsible for staff engagement and development, as well as the overall performance management of her teams. Robyn held leadership positions with Key Bank, Charter One, and Rhinebeck Bank. She earned her BA from SUNY New Paltz and her MBA from Mt. St. Mary College in Newburgh.
Genesis Ramos | March 16th
Genesis Ramos currently serves as the Executive Director of the Mount Saint Mary’s College Desmond Community Engagement and Wellness Center, which is a new endeavor for the college. The Center focuses on equitable, inclusive, and sustainable health and wellness supports and outcomes for the community. She is a freelance Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Consultant who has worked in the public sector. Genesis is the first woman of color to be elected to the Orange County Legislature for the 6th district. She is a lifetime resident of the City of Newburgh.
Giselle Martinez | March 23rd
Giselle Martinez is an activist who volunteers with local non-profit organizations advocating for women and immigrant rights, racial equity in education, and environmental justice. She is on the City of Newburgh Council in Ward 1. She currently works in the State Assembly. She is the secretary of the Newburgh City Democratic Committee and the Vice President of the Young Democrats of Orange County.
Onyx Peterson | March 30th
Onyx Peterson currently serves as the Acting Deputy Superintendent of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District. She is a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. She attended the University of Albany earning a Bachelor’s of Art in Psychology and SUNY New Paltz earning her degree in Educational Leadership. She was the Chief Data Officer for the Newburgh Enlarged City School District heading up the Information and Technology Department. Onyx has also worked in the public sector supporting families through community-based agencies in the Capital Region of New York.

Es una consultora independiente de justicia, equidad, diversidad e inclusión que ha trabajado en el sector público. Génesis es la primera mujer de color elegida para la Legislatura del Condado de Orange para el distrito 6. Es residente vitalicia de la ciudad de Newburgh.
Giselle Martínez | 23 de marzo
Giselle Martinez es una activista que trabaja como voluntaria en organizaciones locales sin fines de lucro que defienden los derechos de las mujeres y los inmigrantes, la equidad racial en la educación y la justicia ambiental. Ella está en el Consejo de la Ciudad de Newburgh en el Distrito 1. Actualmente trabaja en la Asamblea Estatal. Es secretaria del Comité Demócrata de la Ciudad de Newburgh y Vicepresidenta de los Jóvenes Demócratas del Condado de Orange.
Ónix Peterson | 30 de marzo
Onyx Peterson actualmente se desempeña como superintendente adjunto interino del distrito escolar de la ciudad ampliada de Newburgh. Es graduada de Newburgh Free Academy. Asistió a la Universidad de Albany para obtener una Licenciatura en Psicología y a SUNY New Paltz para obtener su título en Liderazgo Educativo. Fue la Directora de Datos del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad Ampliada de Newburgh al frente del Departamento de Información y Tecnología. Onyx también ha trabajado en el sector público apoyando a familias a través de agencias comunitarias en la Región Capital de Nueva York.
