Heritage Middle School Scholars Collect Donations for Those in Need
Six years ago, students from Heritage Middle School developed the concept of H.O.P.E – meaning helping our people everywhere. As part of their group, students began collecting gently used clothing, as well as canned and gourmet goods that they sort and donate to St. George’s Episcopal Church in Newburgh.
Mr. Porpora credits the support and increasing generosity of students and their families, as well as faculty and staff within Heritage for an increase in amount of donations, but also in quality of donations.
The H.O.P.E. group accepts donations on a year-round basis, with donations collected in room 315 at Heritage Middle School. All are encouraged to donate.
