Girls to Ladies coordinate coat drives in Heritage and NFA North
8th grade members of Girls to Ladies coordinated a coat drive to donate to the community.
Mariah Henry, NFA Class of 2011 and one of the first members of Girls to Ladies stopped by to chat with current members.
Girls to Ladies starts at Heritage and continues in the high school. All three high schools are welcome and participate. Coats were collected from donation bins that had been set up at Heritage and NFA North.
Coats will be distributed in the community through Ms. Brenda Sanders, a retired Principal for the district and Ms. Melanie Collins. Melanie owns a local coffee and community shop with her husband, Jerrod, NFA Class of 1996 and have set up a coat wrap and a – “take one leave one program” for those in need.
This afternoon, students sorted coats by size and prepared them to be dropped off.
Girls to Ladies is led by Ms. Susan Martini, a Spanish teacher at Heritage and Ms. Christine Hutchinson, an English teacher at NFA North.
