South Middle School class celebrates Thanksgiving!
Ms. Lydia Rose and her mixed class of 6th - 8th grade Exceptional Learners celebrated Thanksgiving on Tuesday, November 21st. Before the meal, each student shared what they were grateful for with their classmates, teachers, and family members in attendance. On the menu was pulled turkey, arroz con gandules, a typically Puerto Rican rice dish for the holidays, a traditionally Peruvian dish that parent brought in by a parent, salad, and all the fixings. Ms. Rose, Ms. Hunter, and Ms. Walsh chipped in for the ingredients and Mr. Adorno (Ms. Rose's husband) prepared the meal. For desserts, students voted to have ice cream with all the toppings.
