Response to Incident in the Community
Dear NECSD students, families, faculty, and staff,
We have been informed of an incident that took place in the community last night. Given the age-range of the reported victim, we have implemented the district's Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team and asked school personnel to be especially observant of changes to student's physical and emotional behavior as a result of the incident reported in the community. School counselors, social workers, and school psychologists are located in every school building should a student like to discuss the incident with an adult.
As noted in their press release, police are looking for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of this incident. Anyone with any information is asked to call the City of Newburgh Police Department at 845-569-7509. Callers can remain anonymous.
Thank you.
