Over 50 Scholars Participated in My Sister's Keeper Conference
On June 12, 2022, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District in collaboration with Mount Saint Mary's College Desmond Community Engagement and Wellness Center hosted the inaugural My Sister's Keeper Conference: Mind, Body, & Soul. The conference provided scholars in grades 4 through 12 with a host of workshops aligned to the Mind, Body & Soul theme of the conference. Workshops were offered by community-based organization partners and NECSD instructional and SEL professionals and focused on reading and writing, college and career pathways, nutrition, mindfulness, physical well-being, and body image and body safety. Each MSK scholar was given a grade-level appropriate book, a reflection journal, and hygiene and health products.
